What We Do
The Dreyer Community Health Fund serves the Fox Valley area in a variety of ways. For nearly two decades, the Health Fund has assisted organizations that help uninsured patients receive the lifesaving medications and treatment they need for serious or chronic health conditions that would otherwise go untreated.
The Health Fund has organized and supported local causes, including:
An advisory committee composed of representatives from Advocate Dreyer, Advocate Charitable Foundation, and members of the community meets regularly to oversee the growth and distribution of Dreyer Community Health Fund resources.
Creating a Respite for Healing
Since it was opened in 2005, the Dreyer Healing Garden has been supported in part by the Dreyer Community Health Fund. Designed with input from patients, the garden was created as a mini-oasis for cancer patients and their families.
The garden is located on the north side of Advocate Dreyer’s Highland facility at 1221 North Highland Avenue in Aurora between the Dreyer Cancer Center and the Riverwest Radiation Therapy Center. This quiet, protected outdoor area changes with the seasons, and is open during Clinic business hours for use by all patients, providers, and staff, as well as the general public.
A donation for the Dreyer Healing Garden is a great way to honor or remember someone you love or wish to thank.
